I had a wonderful experience having the Nishi Kaiseki lunch course last year, but when I returned this year with four friends, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. I understand that the menu changes with the seasons, but every course except for the dessert was disappointing. The sweetfish had a slightly bitter taste, and the squid sashimi was so tough I could barely chew it. The Wagyu didn't pair well with the sesame sauce at all. The weather was also very hot and humid, so we went through the heat just to eat there, and it was a truly regrettable experience!
