I visited a ramen shop located in the basement of a mixed-use building east of Kichijoji, a place I had been curious about for a while. The shop has a quiet atmosphere with only 8 counter seats. It is a bit cramped and difficult to enter. Since there is no space to put luggage at the seats, it might be difficult if you have large bags. I ordered the 950 yen clam broth soba and added 300 yen for the 'special' version (which includes all toppings). I ordered the Ginger Water Noodles. The clean taste, which seemed to be a combination of kelp broth and ginger, was perfect for a hot day. Personally, the texture (koshi) of the noodles wasn't quite as firm as I had expected, but it's the kind of place I'd want to visit again when the seasonal menu changes.
