I used to visit occasionally for weddings or family celebrations. A few years ago, I revisited with a guest visiting Japan. When we opened the door to our private tatami room, there were towels hanging messily on the drying rack; it was unacceptable. Although it was tidied up shortly after... a young man came to apologize, but thinking back, he seemed to imply that the children's voices were too loud. It was quite embarrassing for my 6-year-old... very much a certain 'British' attitude.

This experience was truly disappointing, and I cannot understand why they received a Michelin star. I have had much better food at many other restaurants in Japan. The meal here cost $280, but there was no menu to tell us in advance what we would be eating, and although the food was plated nicely, there was no sign of special effort in terms of taste or visual appeal. The staff were not very friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was not great either. On top of that, drinks were not included. I would never recommend this restaurant. There are many much better and more value-for-money Michelin-starred restaurants nearby.
