August 2026This is an izakaya run by Nemuro Hanamaru, a highly popular conveyor belt sushi chain in Hokkaido. While the Hanamaru locations in downtown Sapporo are always crowded, I think this place tends to have more available seats.

August 2026When I was traveling to Sapporo last year, I became a 'lunch refugee' in Otaru and returned to Sapporo. I managed to find this place just in time for lunch; while fish in Kyushu is delicious, I was truly moved by the taste of the fish here in Hokkaido. So, I decided that if I went to Sapporo again this year, I must come here for lunch! It's a place frequented more by local workers than tourists...
