August 2026I visited Butagumi, a famous tonkatsu specialty restaurant located in Nishi-Azabu. Having made a dinner reservation at this establishment, which is one of Tabelog's top 100 restaurants, I ordered the Meisan tenderloin tonkatsu and a draft beer. The thick tenderloin was perfectly cooked through, yet remained juicy and tender. In particular, the coarse salt sprinkled on the crispy breading was exquisite. The traditional wooden interior also added to the unique atmosphere. It is an incomparable place to experience premium Japanese-style tonkatsu.
